Mangaluru, Aug 31, 2023: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Dr. G. Santhosh Kumar has issued directives to ensure the seamless execution of the Karnataka Teacher Eligibility Test scheduled for Sunday, September 3.

Dr. G. Santhosh Kumar, presided over a preparatory meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on August 30 to discuss and outline the necessary measures.

A total of 15 examination centers have been established across the district to accommodate the candidates. The first paper of the examination is scheduled from 9.30 am to 12.00 noon at 10 centers, while the second paper will be conducted from 2 pm to 4.30 pm at 15 centers. The exam will witness the participation of 2,430 candidates for the first paper and 3,733 candidates for the second paper. The smooth functioning of the exam will be overseen by 328 room supervisors, with each center also having a designated mobile acquisition officer.

Dr. Sathosh Kumar emphasized the importance of ensuring a conducive environment for the candidates. He instructed that essential amenities such as drinking water, restrooms, medical facilities, and security arrangements should be meticulously organized.

To maintain an undisturbed atmosphere during the exam, he stressed the need to manage unnecessary traffic around the examination centers and urged the closure of xerox shops during the exam period.

Furthermore, the ADC called for the installation of CCTV cameras in all examination rooms to ensure transparency and proper invigilation. He directed Mescom to guarantee uninterrupted power supply during the examination. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of thorough checking of both the question papers’ OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) and the candidates’ answer sheets.

Deputy Director of Public Instruction Dayanand Ramachandra Naik, District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr. Kishore Kumar, headmasters of various high schools and primary schools, officials from the local vigilance bureau, and other relevant stakeholders were present.
