Uttara Kannada Gears Up for “Gruha Lakshmi” Scheme Launch
Karwar, Aug 25: Deputy Commissioner Gangu Bai Manakar has taken the reins to ensure that the live telecast of the “Griha Lakshmi” scheme, a pivotal initiative of the Government, is impeccably executed across all gram panchayats and urban local bodies in the district.
This proactive effort aims to set the stage for the scheme’s grand launch by the Chief Minister on August 30 in Mysuru.
She chaired a preparatory meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s office to coordinate the arrangements for the “Gruha Lakshmi” program. The scheme holds significant importance in the government’s efforts to empower women.
To facilitate the live streaming of the event, the installation of L.E.D. walls, screen systems, and loudspeakers has been directed. A technical team will be deployed to ensure the smooth functioning of the setup. The program’s execution will fall under the purview of Tahsildar, Taluk Panchayat, C.D.P.O, and nodal officers, with an emphasis on close coordination. The Chief Minister’s possible direct interaction with beneficiaries has necessitated meticulous preparation.
The scheme offers financial assistance of Rs 2,000 to registered beneficiaries in the district through Direct Benefit Transfer (D.B.T.). Adequate funds have been allocated for the purpose. The women and child welfare department officials are entrusted with spearheading the efforts, and cooperation is expected from officials of all other departments. Deputy Commissioner Manakar emphasized the importance of seamless coordination to ensure the program’s smooth execution.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Raju Mogavira stressed the significance of including a large number of beneficiaries in the program, aligning with the local festive atmosphere to ensure its success in a well-organized manner.
