Manipal: Advanced 3Tesla MRI Inaugurated at Kasturba Hospital
Manipal, Aug 16, 2023: Advanced AI enabled 3Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Inaugurated at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal.
Dr Ranjan R Pai, Chairman- Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG) inaugurated the advanced state-of-the-art 3Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) today.
Dr Sudharshan Ballal, Chairman, Manipal Health Enterprises Pvt Ltd, Lt Gen ( Dr) M D Venkatesh Vice Chancellor- MAHE, Manipal and Mr VP Thirumalai Senior Vice president and Business Head – Medikabazaar, Mumbai were the guests of honour for the program. Dr H S Ballal, Pro-Chancellor- MAHE, Manipal, Presided over the program. Dr Padmaraj Hegde, Dean-KMC Manipal, Dr Avinash Shetty- Medical Superintendent, Dr Prakashini K, Professor and Head Department of Radiodiagnosis were on the dais. Mr CG Muthana- COO, MAHE Manipal and Dr Anand Venugopal, COO- Teaching Hospital- MAHE, Manipal, and Sr. officials from MAHE Manipal were present.
On This occasion, Mr VP Thirumalai expressed his appreciation and excitement for the inauguration of the 3 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine at Kasturba Hospital, Manipal. This advanced state of the art MRI Machine is undoubtedly a significant addition to the hospital’s medical imaging capabilities.
Dr Sudharshan Ballal on his speech mentioned that, many people from different parts of Karnataka visit Manipal for treatment, 3 Tesla MRI which was inaugurated today not only useful for academic purposes but will be very well benefitted to rural patients of many districts. Now people no need to go to bigger cities to get advanced diagnoses and treatment.

Dr Prakashini K, Professor, and Head Department of Radiodiagnosis Department of Radiodiagnosis gave an overview of the new MRI Machine and the way the department has grown. Dr Rajgopal K V, Professor, Department of Radiodiagnosis, welcomed the gathering, and Dr Priya Jayaraj, Associate professor of the Department of Radiodiagnosis proposed a vote of thanks and master of ceremony for the program.
