Mangalore, Aug 06, 2023: Srinivas Hospital inaugurated its state-of-the-art Burns Unit on August 5th, marking a significant milestone in the city’s healthcare landscape. The event received special recognition from Sanjay Varma, Managing Director and Refinery Director of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL), who attended the event as the Chief Guest.

Located near Surathkal, the Burns Unit’s establishment was hailed as a crucial development, given the prevalence of chemical research and reactions in the vicinity. Varma emphasized the need for a specialized facility to cater to burn victims and praised the unit’s potential to provide essential medical services to the local community and nearby industrial workers.

The guest of honor, Dr. Srinivas Rao, Pro-Chancellor of Srinivas University commended the hospital’s medical staff, likening them to dedicated warriors on a mission to heal and save lives.

In his presidential address, Dr. A. Raghavendra Rao, Chancellor of Srinivas University, emphasized the vision of putting people’s health at the forefront. He applauded MRPL for its valuable contributions to society and expressed Srinivas Hospital’s eagerness to better serve the community with the new Burns Unit.

Dr. Anil Kumar, Srinivas University Registrar, Dr. David D.M. Rosario, Medical Superintendent of SIMS & RC Hospital, Dr. Udaya Kumar Rao, Dean of SIMS & RC, Dr. Anitha Seqiuera, Head of the Medicine Department, and Freeda Dsouza, Manager of Srinivas Hospital were present. The program was hosted by Adivithi Kottary.

The addition of the Burns Unit to Srinivas Hospital reflects the institution’s dedication to providing advanced healthcare solutions to the region and stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts between the hospital and MRPL in fostering a healthier, safer community.
