Mangaluru, June 30, 2023: Mangaluru witnessed an extraordinary two-day extravaganza as the Srinivas University Institute of Engineering & Technology (SUIET), Mukka, hosted the highly anticipated National Level Techno Cultural and Sports Fiesta “Tech Yuva – 23.” With an overwhelming participation of approximately 2,500 talented engineering students, the event proved to be a grand success.

Rathnakar S. Bhat, the CEO & Director of Karnataka Microelectronic Design Pvt Ltd, and a distinguished member of the Technical Group at Texas Instruments Team and Kilby Labs, Dallas inaugurated the event.

In his inaugural address, Er Shri Rathnakar S. Bhat commended the college management, faculty, staff, and students for organizing the National Level Technical Cultural & Sports Fest “Tech Yuva – 23.” Bhat emphasized that such events played a crucial role in nurturing leadership qualities among students and encouraged all participants to take full advantage of the festival’s technical, cultural, and sports offerings. He highlighted the significance of patience, perseverance, and following a structured process for achieving success in life. Bhat extended his best wishes to all the participants, urging them to continuously upgrade their knowledge, skills, and wisdom through dedicated hard work, concentration, and unwavering determination.

Leading the program was the Chancellor of Srinivas University, Dr. CA A. Raghavendra Rao, who presided over the event.

Delivering the Presidential address, Dr. CA A. Raghavendra Rao applauded the distinguished career and accomplishments of Chief Guest Rathnakar S. Bhat in the field of Integrated Circuits Design, Semiconductor Devices, and Automation Tools.

Dr. Rao emphasized that four years of dedicated engineering study had the potential to transform students into successful engineering professionals. He encouraged students to continuously innovate and explore their talents in diverse domains through unwavering hard work. He highlighted Srinivas University’s commitment to preparing students for the industry, with a strong focus on skill development. He commended the students for organizing the remarkable two-day Techno Cultural and Sports Fest and urged them to contribute to the nation’s progress.

Dr. A. Srinivas Rao, the Pro Chancellor of Srinivas University who was the guest of honor stressed the importance of participating in Tech Fests.

He emphasized that every participant was a winner in this event, as it provided excellent opportunities for enhancing their knowledge and skills. Dr. Rao acknowledged the fast-paced technological advancements of today’s generation and advised students to embrace change and leverage technology in their daily lives to attain success. He extended his best wishes to the students who had traveled from various places, including Bengaluru, Mandya, Mysuru, Bidar, and other parts of India, to participate in Tech Yuva-23.

The event witnessed the presence of other prominent dignitaries, including Dr. Anil Kumar, Registrar of Srinivas University; Dr. Ajay K. G., Registrar – Development at Srinivas University; Dr. Sushma Kesari, Head of Digitalization Department at Srinivas University; Dr. Thomas Pinto, Dean of SUIET Mukka; Dr. Netravati P. S., Associate Dean of SUIET; Prof. Shrinath Rao K., the Convener of Tech Yuva-23; Mr. Roshaun Rakesh Nair and Miss Vaishnavi Shenoy, the Student Coordinators.

The Dean of the College, Dr. Thomas Pinto welcomed the gathering. Dr. Netravati P. S. provided an overview of “Tech Yuva” since its inception in 2013. Prof. K. Shrinath Rao, the Convener of Tech Yuva-23, introduced the Chief Guest and other guests on the dais.

During the event, the students unveiled the college’s new website, which they had meticulously designed.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the organizing team, Prof. Shwetha Pai, the Training & Placement Officer, delivered the vote of thanks. Students Shreeja Shetty and Sam Avin Bangera compered the program. Vaidehi enthralled the audience with a captivating invocation.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed the presence of Heads of various Departments, Faculty members, Staff, Students, and Participants from other engineering colleges.

The first day of the festival witnessed an array of thrilling Technical competitions, including Paper Presentation, Model Making, Collage, Robo Wars, 3D CAD Modeling, Code Hunt, Design & Build Challenge, Robo Soccer, Line Follower, RC Racing, Technical Quiz, Paper Airplane, Takshak, Just A Minute, and Markovista.

On the second day, students from Mechanical, Civil, Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Cyber Security & Cyber Forensics, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, and Commerce & Management streams showcased their talents in Cultural & Sports events such as Singing, Solo and Group Dance, Tug of War, Basketball Shootout, Badminton, Volleyball, Face Painting, Mock Press, Treasure Hunt, Stand-Up Comedy, BGMI, Cricket, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Chess, Carom, and more.

Over 50 different competitions in the Technical, Cultural, Literary, and Sports categories were organized, providing an immersive experience for the participating students. The second day also featured a special DJ event by DJ Jathin, adding an exciting and energetic vibe to the festivities.
