201 Couples Tie the Knot in Mass Marriage Ceremony at Dharmasthala
Dharmasthala, May 03, 2023: During the 51st free mass marriage ceremony held at Amritavarshini Auditorium in Dharmasthala on Wednesday 201 couples who entered into wedlock.
The grand procession of brides and grooms, dressed in traditional wedding attire, circumambulated the temple and headed to the auditorium for the ceremony.
With the blessings of Sri Manjunatha Swamy and under the divine presence of revered Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Heggade, the couples tied the knot amidst the chanting of mantras, following their respective traditions.
The bridegrooms adorned their brides with Mangalsutras while taking a sacred oath to be each other’s companions without deceiving each other.
The joyous occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including Hemavathi Heggade and film actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who distributed the Mangalsutras. The ceremony was a celebration of love, trust, and companionship, reminding us all that love knows no boundaries, and the power of togetherness can conquer all.
The mass marriage witnessed 52 inter-caste marriages, 52 Scheduled Caste marriages, 9 Kuruba marriages, 9 Veerashaiva marriages, and 11 Scheduled Tribe marriages.
The remaining 68 couples belonged to other castes. Three pairs were from Kerala and one from Andhra Pradesh.
