Karnataka Elections 2023: 15 Candidates File Nominations on Day 3 in DK
Mangaluru, April 17, 2023: A total of 23 nominations were filed by 15 candidates, comprising both male and female today, for the third day of filing nominations in eight assembly constituencies in the district.
Among the candidates, Aditya Narayan Kollaje from the Belthangady constituency filed as the Sarvodaya Karnataka Party candidate, while Harish Poonja from the Bharatiya Janata Party filed two nominations, and Rakshit Shivaram from the Indian National Congress filed two nominations.
Mithun M Rai, the Indian National Congress party candidate, filed three nominations, Dayanand from the Karnataka Rashtra Samithi party, Vijaynath Vitthal Shetty from the Aam Aadmi Party, Alfonso Franco from the Social Democratic Party of India filed nominations for the Moodbidri assembly constituency.
Prashanth from the Uttama Prajakiya General Party filed nomination for the Mangalore North Assembly constituency.
Vedavyas Kamath of the Bharatiya Janata Party, filed four nominations from Mangaluru South assembly constituency. Satish Kumpala from the Bharatiya Janata Party and Mohammed Riyaz from the Social Democratic Party of India filed papers for the Mangaluru assembly constituency.
M Elyas of SDPI and Abdul Majeed Khan from SDPI have filed their papers from Bantwal.
In Puttur constituency BK Vishu Kumar has filed his papers as AAP candidate and Arun Kumar Puthila as indepdent candidate. Ramesh B has filed nomination as Uttama Prajakiya Party from Sullia.
The last date for filing nominations is April 20, and scrutiny of nominations will take place on April 21. Candidates can withdraw their candidature until April 24. Deputy Commissioner Ravikumar M, who is also the district election officer, stated that polling will be held on May 10.
