Suvidha: The Online Portal That Simplifies Political Event Permissions
Mangaluru, April 08, 2023: To streamline the process of obtaining permission for political events and campaigning activities, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched an online portal called Suvidha. The Suvidha portal allows political parties to apply for permission to hold meetings, functions, jathas, vehicles, and other campaigning activities, along with the necessary documents.
The online system is a one-stop-shop for all election-related permissions, and the applications submitted will be reviewed by election officers, and permission letters will be issued upon approval by the concerned departments.
Applicants can easily download their permission letters online from the Suvidha portal. Application can be submitted at https://suvidha.eci.gov.in/.
To facilitate the process further, Suvidha single window counters have been set up in the offices of the returning officers of all constituencies. This ensures that applications are received and processed expeditiously. In addition, a single window has been established at the office of the District Electoral Officer for permissions required within the district limits, according to a press statmeent from the Deputy Commissioner, who is also the District Election Officer.
This initiative by the ECI aims to provide political parties with a hassle-free experience in obtaining permissions for their campaigning activities, ensuring a transparent and smooth election process.
