 Srinivas University Hosts Basic Life Support Training for Allied Health Sciences Faculty and Students

Mangaluru, April 05, 2023: Srinivas University’s Institute of Allied Health Sciences in Mukka, Mangalore, hosted a four-day session on “Basic Life Support – Inheriting the Skills” for both faculty and students of Allied Health Sciences.

Divided into theory and hands-on training segments, the program ran from April 3-6, 2023, and was attended by esteemed guests, including Dr. K. Subramaniyam, HOD of Cardiology Department at Srinivas Hospital, Dr. Jayashree Bolar, Asst. Registrar at Srinivas University, Dr. Beena H. B, and Prof. Pavana Krishnamoorthy, both Deans at IAHS.

Sagar Anil Patil, Asst. Professor in the Department of AOTT at SU-IAHS, served as the resource person for the session.

The event commenced with an inaugural ceremony, featuring a prayer song and a lamp lighting, followed by speech from Dr. K. Subramaniyam and Dr. Jayashree Bolar on the importance of BLS in both medical and non-medical fields.

Participants engaged in an interactive session featuring PPT presentations, CPR guidelines, and CPR-based videos, with ample opportunity for audience interaction.

Sessions covered topics including CPR, choking, the Hemlicks maneuver, and practical demonstrations of BLS, with a total of 182 participants from BSc Respiratory Therapy, BSc Medical Lab Technician, BSc Medical Imaging Technology, BSc Perfusion Technology, and BSc Clinical Psychology programs. Following the program, participants were asked to provide feedback.
