Mangaluru International Airport records significant growth in traffic
Adani Airports boosts customer confidence
Mangaluru, March 11, 2023: The aviation sector in India has been witnessing robust growth since the pandemic with more routes and airports opening up, leading to increased investment opportunities and job chances.
The Adani Group has been steadfastly working towards it and all seven Adani airports saw a significant increase in domestic and international travellers.
Mangaluru International Airport witnessed an increased traffic of 209,713 national and 84,356 foreign travellers. The growth in traffic is evidence of Adani Airports’ efforts to promote passenger confidence through initiatives such as e-gates, barcode scanners, friendly and cooperative ground staff, Pranam Service, free WiFi, retail and F&B stores, and automated parking systems, etc. for a better customer experience and safety standards adopted across all airports.
The rise in passenger traffic was driven by positive sentiments among air travellers and a strong surge due to the festive holiday season. Air traffic at all Adani airports jumped by around 100% compared to the previous year, taking the number to pre-pandemic levels with more than 14.25 million passengers using these airports over last year.
While Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (CCSIA) handled record passenger movement on a single day, other airports such as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport in Ahmedabad, Jaipur International Airport (JIAL), Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport in Northeast India, and Thiruvananthapuram also saw a significant growth in passenger traffic during the first two months of 2023.
The Adani Airports’ focus on delivering great experiences and encouraging repeat trips is crucial in today’s connected world. To achieve this, they try to keep waiting times and congestion to a minimum with the help of operations managers, who are trained to have a clear picture of what is happening on the ground to implement changes quickly and effectively.
The growth in passenger traffic is an indication of the aviation sector’s resilience and Adani Airports’ hard work in ensuring higher customer satisfaction levels in airports.
With the restart of tourism after the pandemic, this upward trend is expected to continue, and it is anticipated that the number of trips people will take in a year will increase, boosting the nation’s economy further.
