Shirva: Volleyball tournament inaugurated at MSRS College
Shirva, Jan 25, 2023: The Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty Memorial Mangalore University level Volleyball tournament was inaugurated by Bank of Baroda Udupi Regional Head Sanathan Satua at M.S.R.S. College in Shirva on Tuesday.
In his speech, Satua highlighted the importance of sports meets in enhancing the mental and physical stamina of students, contributing to their overall development.
Deputy Regional Head Suresh Shetty also spoke about the support provided by nationalized banks for sports and the production of sports persons for national and international competitions.
The function was presided over by Vidyavardhaka Educational Institutions’ Administrator Prof. Y. Bhaskar Shetty, who emphasized the college’s commitment to conducting the tournament in memory of its founder Mulki Sunder Ram Shetty. He also mentioned that many rural sports students have secured government jobs through sports quota.
The principal Dr. Nayana M Pakkala welcomed the gathering and the sports in charge Sadananda proposed a vote of thanks. Dr. Mithun Chakravarti compered the program.
