Special trains on Konkan route during Winter- 2022

Udupi, Dec 03, 2022: The railway department is gearing up to take necessary steps to clear extra rush during winter season this year.

The number of passengers are usually more during festive seasons like Christmas and New Year. As a result special trains have been declared on Konkan route.

The special trains will connect Lokmanya Tilak (T) with Mangaluru Junction and Madgaon once a week, according to a press statement from Konkan Railway.

• Train no. 01453 Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Mangaluru Jn. Special (Weekly) will leave from  Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 22:15 hrs (10.15 pm) and will reach Mangaluru Jn. at 17:05 hrs (05.05 pm) on the next day. The train will leave every Friday from Dec 09 to Jan 06.
• Train no.  01454 Mangaluru Jn.  – Lokmanya Tilak (T) Special (Weekly). It will leave Mangaluru Jn. at 18:45 hrs (06.45pm) and reach Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 14:25 hrs (02.25 pm) on the next day. The train will leave every Saturday from Dec 10 to Jan 07.

Halt at : Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon Jn., Karwar, Gokarna Road, Kumta, Murdeshwar, Bhatkal, Mookambika Road Byndoor, Kundapura, Udupi, Mulki & Surathkal stations.

Composition : Total 17 Coaches : Two Tier AC – 01 Coach, Three Tier AC – 03 Coaches, Sleeper – 08 Coaches, Second Seating – 03 Coaches, SLR – 02.

• Train no. 01455 Lokmanya Tilak (T) – Madgaon Jn. Special (Weekly) will leave Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 22:15 hrs (10.15 pm) on Jan 01, Sunday and reach Madgaon Jn. at 10:30 hrs (10.30 am) on the next day.
• Train no.  01456 Madgaon Jn.  – Lokmanya Tilak (T) Special (Weekly) will leave from Madgaon Jn. at 11:30 hrs (11.30 am) on Jan 02, Monday. It will reach Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 23:45 hrs (11.45 pm) on the same day.

Halt: Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road, Thivim &  Karmali stations.

The bookings for Train no. 01456 will open from Dec 04 at all Passenger Reservation Systems (PRS), internet and IRCTC website, according to a press statement from the Konkan Railway.
