 St Mary’s College organizes Placement Skill and Training workshop

Shirva, Nov 09, 2022: Department of Computer Science organized Placement Skill and Training Program as a part of the MoU between St Mary’s College, Shirva, and MITE college, Mijar on Nov 9.

“Placement training plays a major role in shaping the career goals of students. It is the dream of every computer graduate to get placed in a top organization visiting their campus for recruitment. Keeping this key aspect into consideration, it is realized that training is important for graduate students to enhance their employability skills and achieve good placement in various Industries said Akshathraj Jain, Assistant Professor, MITE.

In his presidential address Dr. Herald Ivan Monis, Principal, said that along with technical expertise, the development of a holistic personality is necessary.

“To meet these requirements, computer graduates should be trained thoroughly in career and job-related activities to enhance their competence at par with industry standards and shape their future,” he said.

Training the students in various skills with proper information and guidance is the major responsibility of the institution and the parents said Lieutenant K Praveen Kumar, Head, Computer Science Dept and Director, IT Club, in his introductory speech.

Varun senior Assistant Professor of MTE college was the resource person of the day. He trained the students in the areas of employability skills including bio data writing, aptitude test, group discussions, and facing the interview.

Lecturer Prakash, Divyasree, Sushma, BCA students, and Teaching and non-teaching faculties were present in this program. College students Anup Nayak and Alister assisted. Shravya and team rendered prayer service. Chaya Karkera welcomed. Deepthi proposed the vote of thanks and Harshitha compered the program.
