KCCI holds interactive session with Mangaluru Mayor
Mangaluru, Nov 05, 2022: Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) held a felicitation and interactive session with Mangaluru City Mayor Jayananda Anchan on Nov 3.
KCCI President M. Ganesh Kamath welcomed the gathering. And KCCI Vice President Ananthesh V. Prabhu introduced the guests to the audience.
Raising certain concerns related to the industry, KCCI President mentioned that the solid waste management cess on industries is too high in Mangaluru as compared to the rest of the state.
He also stated that there is no differentiation between commercial and residential units leading to a huge disparity in taxation.
Another area of concern raised by the KCCI was the non-allocation of Khata and door numbers to the establishments in Baikampady industrial areas. This has been a long pending matter as the units located there are paying annual maintenance charges to Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) which is authorized to give approvals for building plans and maintain infrastructure and other facilities. Hence there is confusion prevailing over the payment of Self-Assessment Tax (SAS). He stated that an amicable solution to this must be found at the earliest.
Poornima M, Deputy Mayor, Premananda Shetty, Former Mayor, Abdul Lateef, Corporator, Bunder Ward, were felicitated.
Athmika Amin, KCCI Director, Ananthesh V. Prabhu, Vice President KCCI, B.A.Nazeer, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Secretaries of KCCI and others were present.
