Manipal: MMMC organizes intra-university competition
Manipal, Oct 10, 2022: The faculty of Department of Microbiology, Melaka Manipal Medical College (MMMC) organized “Model Your Microbe,” an intra-university competition on Oct 8.
The event was aimed to encourage the talents, knowledge, skills and creativity of undergraduate students of Health Sciences Institutions of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal.

Twelve teams comprising of MBBS students from Melaka Manipal Medical College (Manipal campus) and other Health Sciences institutions of MAHE from both Manipal and Mangaluru campus participated in this contest. They were instructed to design a model of existing or non-existing microbe of their choice. Team consisting of 4-5 students were allowed to design 3D structures of microorganisms with creativity innovation.

Dr K Ramnarayan, Pro Chancellor – Sikkim Manipal University inaugurated the event.
Dr Narayana Sabhahit, Registrar, MAHE, Manipal was the chief Guest for valedictory function. Dr. Ullas Kamath, Dean, MMMC was present. Dr. Shobha K L, Associate Dean, Professor & Head Department of Microbiology, MMMC welcomed the gathering.
The designed models were assessed by three judges from various institutions of MAHE, Manipal. MMMC students won the first prize and Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangaluru won the second prize. Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal bagged the third prize.
