Mangaluru, Sept 22, 2022: The Department of Virology and Immunology in collaboration with the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Srinivas University, Mukka organized the “Rabies Awareness Program” on Sept 20.

Tauseef Ahmed, Animal Rescuer, TEDx Speaker, and Writer, was the chief guest. Dr. Anil Kumar, Registrar, Srinivas University, and Prof. Devaseelan S, Dean, Institute of Allied Health Sciences were the guests of honor.

In his address, Tauseef Ahmed spoke on the topic ‘Prevention of Rabies through Education and Vaccination.’ He stressed the importance of vaccinating the dogs to prevent the rabies virus from spreading in the animal and the human population.

Rithika of II B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology spoke about the significance of the Rabies Awareness program. Anagha, a student of the Department of MLT welcomed the gathering. Denwin D’Souza of the same department delivered the vote of thanks.

As a part of the awareness program, Tauseef Ahmed vaccinated 10 dogs in and around the campus.

Maureen Edwards, Assistant Professor/ Co-ordinator of Virology and Immunology Department, Naveen Bappanadu, Course Co-ordinator of Medical Laboratory Technology, Rashmi, Assistant Professor, Chaithra (Assistant Professor, Anjally Devasia, Assistant Professor, and Arpitha N, Assistant Professor organized the program.
