Mangaluru: Coast Guard conducts walkathon to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav
Mangaluru, Aug 11, 2022: Coast Guard District Headquarters (Karnataka) conducted a walkathon at Mangaluru today.
The event was held to commemorate India’s 75 years of Independence with the theme “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav”.

The Chief Guest for the event was Mahalakshmi Venkatesh, District President, Tatrakshika.
She stressed the importance of a walkathon. She stressed a target of 75K steps for “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.”
The significance of the event is to emphasize India’s glorious history and showcase India’s development since its Independence and encourage people to remain healthy and fit by including physical activities and sports in their daily lives.
As many as 75 Participants (All ladies) from the Coast Guard fraternity gathered at CGRA near CGKG school Kunjaithbail. The route of the event was from Coast Guard Officers’ residential area, Kunjathbail to Kunjathbail Village and back on the same route.

In a press statement, ICG said that they have planned for hoisting National Flag at various islands and lighthouses and in fishing boats at sea on independence day in line with the government of India’s campaign of Har Ghar Tiranga.
