Vehicle movement banned in the stretch between Maranahalli and Donigal
Mangaluru, July 15, 2022: Deputy Commissioner of Hassan district has imposed a complete ban on the movement of vehicles between Maranahalli and Donigal of NH 75. As a result vehicles moving between Dakshina Kannada and Sakaleshpur will not be able to travel on Shiradi Ghat.
Following a landslip in the stretch near Donigal, the Deputy Commissioner of Hassan had ordered imposing restrictions on the movement of vehicles as a precautionary measure from July 14.
As heavy rain continues in the Ghat section between Maranahalli and Donigal the Hassan DC has imposed a total ban on vehicle movement on this route in Shiradi Ghat.
People traveling between Mangaluru-Bengaluru will now have to take either NH 73 (Charmadi Ghat) or NH 275 (Sampaje Ghat).
Alternate route mentioned by the Hassan district administration:
- Those vehicles below 16,200 KG can take Hassan-Arakalaguru-Kushalnagara-Sampaje route (Sampaje Ghat).
- They can take Hassan-Beluru-Moodigere-Charmadi route (Charmadi Ghat).
- Those above 16,200 kgs cannot take these routes but have to travel on some other routes.
