 Karwar Naval Base observes International Day of Yoga -2022

Karwar, June 21, 2022: The 8th International Day of Yoga (IDY) coinciding with “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav was celebrated by all units under Headquarters, Karnataka Naval Area (HQKNA) on June 21.

The program was held in consonance with the theme, “Yoga for Humanity” which promotes a holistic route to health.

The IDY is observed to spread awareness about the practice of yoga and to achieve synergy of mind, body, emotions, and energy towards healthy and happy living.

Live Yoga sessions were conducted at Karwar Naval Base. This witnessed the active participation of nearly 3000 enthusiastic personnel including officers, sailors, civilians, and families under the tutelage of qualified Yoga instructors, trained in-house experts, and guided by common yoga protocol promulgated by the Ministry of Ayush.

A host of other activities like painting and quiz competitions, and illumination of naval buildings were also organized by ashore and afloat units to spread awareness about the importance of Yoga amongst the naval fraternity and imbibe “Karo Yog Raho Nirog”
