Postal Cover on ‘Nasha Mukt Udupi Abhiyaan’ released
Manipal, June 15, 2022: A special Postal Cover on ‘Nasha Mukt Udupi Abhiyaan by involving Young Leaders of MAHE,’ was released at Manipal.
The program was organized by the Department of Student Affairs of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) at TMA Pai Auditorium.
The Nasha Mukt Udupi campaign is held as part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharath Abiyaan.
The Special Poster Cover was released by D.S.V.R Murthy, Postmaster General, South Karnataka Region, Bengaluru.
Two newsletters – “Hithaishi” and “Nasha Mukt Udupi Abhiyaan” were released and the Nasha Mukt club at Manipal College of Dental Sciences, MAHE, Manipal was launched on the occasion. Dignitaries and officials from MAHE and the postal department participated with the students and faculty.
Radhika Chakravarthy, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, joined the event online and released the “Nasha Mukt Udupi Abhiyaan” newsletter.
Lt. General (Dr.) M.D. Venkatesh, Vice-Chancellor MAHE, released the 3rd edition of the newsletter “Hithaishi” of the Department of Student Affairs.
“Substance abuse is a serious issue that needs to be tackled. Manipal Academy of Higher Education will continue to provide its support in the creation of awareness around the issue so that the goal of making Udupi “Nasha Mukt” is achieved,” he said.
Dr. H. Vinod Bhat, Executive Vice President of MAHE, was the Guest of Honour. The special postal cover was designed under his guidance.
As part of the launching of the Nasha Mukt club at the Manipal College of Dental Sciences (MCODS), Manipal, the guest of honor Dr. Monica Charlotte Solomon, Dean of MOCDS, Manipal administered the oath.
Dr. Geetha Maiya, Director, Student Affairs, MAHE, welcomed the gathering, and Dr Binil V, Associate Professor, Manipal College of Nursing, Manipal and Co-Principal Investigator of the project, proposed the Vote of thanks.
