Widening of the road is a longstanding demand of the people as well as the Industrialists of the region. It would not just help the frequent commuters but also boost tourism, trade and commerce.
After a failed attempt to widen the road few years ago, the government has conferred the work to new contractors who have taken up the work in a speedy manner. The widening work from Bantwal to Periyashanthi has started and is visible to the people on the road.
