Udupi: Man killed in road accident
Udupi, March 09, 2022: A person was killed in a road accident at Goliyangadi of Shankarnarayana Police Station limits on March 8.
The incident took place around 4.45 pm when Gulabi Bai (45) and S Subhaschandra Shetty were traveling in a car towards Goliyangadi. Subhaschandra Shetty allegedly drove the car rashly and negligently. The car hit a tree on the roadside and fell into the stormwater drain.
Subhaschandra Shetty and Gulabi Bai sustained injuries. Shetty was shifted to a private hospital. He did not respond to treatment and died. A case is registered at Shankarnarayana Station under IPC Section 279 (Rash driving), 337 (Causing hurt by an act which endangers human life), and 304 (A) (Causing death by negligence).
