Uttara Kannada DC reviews Covid vaccination in district
Karwar, Jan 27: Uttara Kannada deputy commissioner Mullai Muhilan held a review meeting on Covid vaccination today.
The district-level officers, Assistant Commissioners, Tahsildars, Taluk Panchayat Executive Officers, and Taluk health officials participated in today’s meeting.
Until today, 10,77,505 people above 18 years have been vaccinated with the first dose. 9,40,517 have taken the second dose.
The vaccination for the 15-18 age group was started on January 7. As many as 54,796 children have taken their first dose. Officials said that 8,274 health workers, 2,728 frontline workers, and 7001 senior citizens have taken booster doses.
In the district, about 71,975 are due for the second dose. As many as 12,444 senior citizens, 1,642 frontline workers, and 3,633 health workers are due to take booster dose. A special vaccination drive will be held on January 28 and 29 for these groups.
