No plan to shift Kidu Gene Bank: Narendra Singh Tomar
Mangaluru, Jan 19, 2022: The Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar has told Nalin Kumar Kateel that there is no plan to shift the Gene Bank at Kidu.
The Minister stated this in a letter to Nalin.
“There is no plan to shift the National and International Coconut Gene Bank for South Asia, established at the Kidu Center of ICAR-CPCRI to any other place,” he said.
“Further at present there is no proposal to set up a Regional Station of ICAR-CPCRI at Samalkot or any other place. The CPCRI has filed an application in the Supreme Court seeking relaxation in payment of Net Present Value (NPV) sought by the Ministry of Environment and Forests. Further course of action in the matter will be taken as per the judgement of the Supreme Court,” he added.
