 Administer polio drops on Jan 23: DC

Udupi, Dec 24, 2021: Deputy Commissioner Kurma Rao has asked people to actively participate in the polio vaccination drive by taking the children below 5 years to the nearby centers.

He was speaking at the Coordination Committee meeting of the District Pulse Polio Vaccine Task Force today.

“This time, the Pulse Polio vaccine is being administered on January 23. Parents must take their children below 5 years to the vaccine center. People should tell about this program to their neighbors and motivate them to participate in this,” he said.

In Udupi district, polio vaccination will be provided at 686 centers. As many as 74,049 children have been identified for vaccination. Apart from the vaccination centers, vaccines will be administered at bus stops, railway stations, major pilgrim centers, and also beaches.

“Taluk level committees should convene a meeting and make all necessary preparations. The vaccination program should be given wide publicity,” he added.

Healthcare staff, supervisors, and other staff have been assigned to vaccinate.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Naveen Bhat, Additional DC Balakrishnappa and DHO, and other officials were present.
