Udupi, March 03, 2024: Udupi MLA Yashpal A Suvarna emphasized the crucial role of the pulse polio vaccine in preventing birth-related disabilities in children, urging everyone’s cooperation to make society polio-free by ensuring their children receive the vaccination.

Speaking at the inauguration of the National Pulse Polio Programme in Udupi district, organized collaboratively by the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, District Health and Family Welfare Department, and voluntary organizations, Suvarna stressed the need for collective efforts.

The event took place at the Government Kusamma Shambhu Shetty Memorial Haji Abdullah Mother and Child Hospital. Suvarna acknowledged the district’s achievements in health, education, and religious spheres, advocating for the creation of a healthy environment by following medical advice.

The event, presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Mamta GS, stressed the responsibility of parents in ensuring timely vaccination, enhancing children’s immunity, and preventing future health challenges.

S. S., addressing the gathering, emphasized that timely vaccination is crucial in overcoming potential issues faced by children. Recognizing India’s status as a polio-free nation, she called upon citizens to uphold this achievement through responsible vaccination practices.

Rotary President Deepa, speaking at the event, underscored the connection between children’s health and the progress of the country. She encouraged parents to prioritize vaccination as a precautionary measure against polio, contributing to the overall well-being of the younger generation.
