Mangaluru, Dec 01, 2021: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V has directed the officials to immediately clear the encroachments of lakes in the district.
He gave this direction during a meeting held at his office on the conservation, development, and maintenance of lakes on Wednesday.
“As per the records, there are 644 lakes in the district. If there are more then the RTC should be verified and the encroachments should be cleared. Steps should be taken for its beautification including planting saplings around the lakes,” he said.
