Mangaluru, Sept 13, 2021: Allowing the High Schools to start physical classes from September 17, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra KV directed the management to strictly follow Covid guidelines.
Dr. Rajendra held a meeting at his office today on the reopening of schools.
“The physical classes of 8th, 9th, and 10th can resume from September 17. The 6th and 7th classes can start on September 20. Fist PU classes too can start,” he said and added that 99 percent of teaching and non-teaching staff have been vaccinated.
“Student found positive should be provided proper treatment. The primary contacts should also be given attention. The related officials should look into these,” he said.
Dr Rajendra also directed the school management to allow an online mode for those who do not wish to come to physical classes.
“Covid test of teaching and non-teaching staff should be done regularly. Those students coming for physical class should compulsorily produce the permission letter from their parents.
He said the students from Kerala should either be in hostels or opt for online classes.
