House theft in Uchila
Udupi, Sep 09, 2021: Thieves who entered a house at Uchila have stolen cash and materials worth ₹ 17,000.
Abdul Malik owns a house at Uchila. He lives on the first floor and has rented out the ground floor. He and his wife, had been to a relative’s house on September 7 around 7.45 pm. But when they returned around 9.15 pm they found the lock of the iron grill at the entrance to the first floor broken.
The thieves had forced open the house door and stolen ₹ 8,000 cash, ₹ 3,000 in the purse, ₹ 1,000 cash in the purse of Abdul Malik, and a Citizen watch worth ₹ 5,000.
The total worth of the stolen things is estimated to be ₹ 17,000.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under IPC Section 457 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit offence) and 380 (Theft).
