Udupi, Nov 14, 2022: Thieves who entered a house near Barkur have stolen gold ornaments worth Rs 1.48 lakh.

According to the complaint, the Vijendra Kumar of Hosala village had left for Tirupati Yatra on Nov 11 morning. When the family members returned on Nov 13 afternoon, they found the front door was forced open.

The thieves who entered the house had stolen 3 gold chains, 2 bangles, a finger ring, and earrings. The total worth of the stolen items is said to be Rs 1.48 lakh.

A case is registered at Brahmavar police station under IPC Section 454 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking in order to commit offense), 457 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit offense), and 380 (theft in dwelling house).
