Udupi, Aug 30, 2021: Considering the decrease in positivity rate in the district, the Udupi district administration has decided to start high school and PU classes from September 1.
The government had reopened classes from 9th standard to 2nd PU from August 23. But it was postponed in some districts including Udupi as the positivity rate was more than 2 percent.
“Positivity rate has seen a downward trend in the district. In the last three days, it is about 1.4 percent. Following this, the district administration has decided to reopen the classes from 9th to 12th (2nd PUC),” District Incharge Minister Sunil Kumar told reporters at Udupi today.
“The teachers and school managements should be careful and strictly follow Covid guidelines. All the teachers should be vaccinated,” he added.
When asked about the Ganesha festival, the minister said that the celebrations will be allowed as per the guidelines issued by the central government.
