Udupi: Rider dies after scooter hits parked truck
Udupi, Aug 23, 2021: A motorcyclist died after he hit a parked truck at Muluru in Udupi district.
Sangappa (30) of Kalaghatagi and cleaner Ashok was driving a truck carrying sugar from Belagavi to Kerala.
On August 22 afternoon he parked the truck on the roadside at Muloor near Kaup to have lunch. They were checking the blow of the tires when a person on a scooter allegedly drove in a rash and negligent manner and hit the truck from behind. He sustained serious injuries and was unconscious.
He was immediately shifted to the District Government Hospital at Ajjarkad.
The doctors declared him dead in the evening. A case is registered at Kaup Police Station under IPC Section 279 (Rash driving) and 304 A (Causing death by negligence).
