Endosulfan victims to be provided Covid vaccination on priority

Mangaluru, July 15, 2021: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V directed the officials to ensure endosulfan victims get their monthly pension on time.

Dr. Rajendra presided over a meeting at his office on Thursday and warned strict action against the erring officials.

“The State government provides the monthly pension to the Endosulfan victims. The victims have been included in the special category and provided with the BPL card. The pension bill is managed at Treasury-2. Every victim should be contacted through the call center to ensure they receive pension regularly. If anybody did not get it, the reason should be checked and should be conveyed to the respective victim. The concerned officials should ensure the victims get the money regularly,” he said.

He directed the officials to increase the number of medical test camps to identify endosulfan victims at the medical colleges and other places at the Sub Division level. Publicity should be given about the camp in the villages. The identification and test should be conducted in these camps, he added.

Zilla Panchayat CEO Dr. Kumar directed the officials to ensure the endosulfan victims are provided Covid vaccine. If they are unable to go to the vaccination center, steps should be taken to get them vaccinated at their house.
Taluk level officials participated in the meeting through video conference.
