Elderly couple die after consuming poison
Udupi, June 02, 2021: An elderly couple from Karkala who had consumed poison died at a private hospital in Mangaluru yesterday.
K P Ananth Prabhu and his wife K P Padma Prabhu were residing in the house next to their son’s house at Havaldarbettu, Karkala.
Police said that Padma Prabhu (82) was suffering from health issues. Due to this she and her husband consumed poison on May 31.
Though the two were rushed to a private hospital in Mangaluru they did not respond to treatment. On June 1 Ananth Prabhu died at 11.20 am and Padma Prabhu at 12.25 pm.
Karkala Town Police have registered an Unnatural Death Report (UDR).
