Customs officials seize 664 g of gold, arrest air traveller at Mangaluru Airport
Mangaluru, Feb 06, 2021: Mangaluru Airport Customs officials arrested a person for smuggling gold worth ₹31.73 lakh.
The person, identified as Mohammed Harshad of Bengre Kasaba, Mangaluru had concealed 664 grams gold in his body. He allegedly tried to smuggle gold in powder form mixed with gum.
The value of gold is estimated to be 31,73,920.
The Customs team was led by Deputy Commissioner Praveen Kandi and included Superintendents Naresh Kumar BM, Bikram Chakraborty, and others.
