Muslim organization condemns Swami Anand Swaroop’s statement

Mangaluru, Jan 15, 2021: Dakshina Kannada Muslim Okkuta has strongly condemned Swami Anand Swaroop’s recent statement on Quran and Namaz.

“Swami Anand Swaroop had participated in a seminar at Chaudhary Charan Singh University recently and had given statement that hurt the sentiments of the Muslims. We condemned such a statement. Also, such statements are a ploy to create communal tension,” Okkuta president and former Mayor K Ashraf said in a press statement.

“Officials should immediately arrest and take action case against him. India is a secular country giving equal opportunity to all religions. All have the right to practice their religion in India. But Swamiji’s statement is a crime and also against the secular flavor of the country,” he said.

Ashraf asked people to maintain peace and harmony.

“At a time when farmers are protesting against the new law, such statement by the Swamiji seems to be to divert the attention of the people. The Holy book of Quran has a message for everyone. It preaches love, peace, equality, and harmony. Swamiji’s statement is against the constitution. So all the religion must unitedly condemn this statement,” he added.
