Second Annual Convocation of Srinivas University held
Mangaluru, October 20: The Second Annual Convocation of Srinivas University was held at Srinivas University Pandeshwar campus on Oct 20.
Sri Vidyadheesha Tirtha Swamiji of Palimar Matha spoke about the role of Universities since centuries in India.
“The concept of Universities was in India from several centuries ago. India had great universities like Nalanda and Thakshashila,” he said.
“Srinivas Institutions which started from a small stage has now grown as Srinivas University,” he added.
Deputy CM Dr. C. N. Ashwath Narayan who attended the event virtually as the Chief Guest appreiciated Srinivas University for following the entrepreneurial classroom curriculum which helps the students in their future.
CA. A. Raghavendra Rao, Chancellor of Srinivas University presided over the programme.
38 ranks including 11 Gold Medals, 232 Under Graduate, 87 Post Graduate students from various disciplines, 1 Ph.D., 1 D.Litt degree was awarded at the event.
Sri Vidyadheesha Tirtha Swamiji was conferred degree of Doctor of Letters (Honoris Causa) on the occasion.
Dr. A. Srinivas Rao – Pro Chancellor, Srinivas University, welcomed the gathering.
CA A. Raghavendra Rao, Chancellor of Srinivas University administered the oath to the young graduates.
Dr. P. S. Aithal – Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ajay Kumar Registrar (Development), Dr. Anil Kumar – Registrar, Srinivas University, Vijayalakshmi R. Rao, Prof. Mitra S. Rao – Trustee Members, Board of Governors. Dr. Srinivas Mayya – Registrar (Evaluation), Mr. Adithya Kumar – Registrar (Academic & Development) were present on the occasion.
