Dakshina Kannada reports third COVID-19 death
The 67 year old P-409 hails from Bantwal.
Mangaluru: A COVID-19 patient from Bantwal under treatment at Wenlock District Hospital died on Thursday evening.
Two patients had died last week and this is the third death in a span of 11 days in Dakshina Kannada district.
The 67 year old P-409 hails from Bantwal. She was the neighbor of P-390. P-390 was the first patient to test positive in Bantwal Taluk and had died on April 19.
P-409 had severe respiratory problem on April 18 and was rushed to Wenlock Hospital. Her throat samples were sent to the lab at the hospital and the report confirmed COVID-19 positive on April 20.
As her condition deteriorated she was provided ventilator support for about a week. Not responding to the treatment, she died on Thursday at 5.40 pm.
P-409’s daughter (P-489) too tested positive last week.
