Dakshina Kannada district Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh said that the two patients- an 80-year-old woman and her 45-year-old son from Kulashekhara village (P-506 and P-507) have been tested positive. They were the contacts of P-432.
This is the first time COVID-19 cases are reported from Mangaluru City Corporation limits.
Sources said that the 80-year-old woman from Kulashekhara was admitted to First Neuro hospital a few days ago and was under treatment at the ICU. Her son was with her in the hospital.
First Neuro has already been declared as Containment Zone. Now the two have been tested positive.

With the two being tested positive, the Deputy Commissioner has declared the area near their residence at Shakthinagar as the containment zone. Mangaluru City Corporation Commissioner Ajit Kumar S has been appointed as the incident commander who will be overall incharge of the containment zone.
The officials are yet to establish the source of the virus.
