Kateel Jatre Day 7: Devotees throng Brahma Rathotsava
Kateelu Jatre: April 14 to 21
Kateel, April 20, 2022: Hundreds of devotees participated in the annual Brahma Rathotsavam of Kateelamma today.
The annual festival is being held at Kateel from April 14. Various religious and cultural programs are held as part of the celebration.
On Wednesday the Morning Abhisheka, Ushakala Pooje Abhisheka, and sevas were offered from 3.30 am to 7 am. This was followed by Mahapooje at 7.30 pm. The Rathotsavam celebration began at 10 am. After Ratha Bali, Mantrakshate, Ratharohana, Ratha Hoovina Pooja, and Rathotsava were held.
This was followed by Kateepooje and Oda Bali.
In the evening Golden Ratha Utsava, Golden Palanquin Utsava, Vasanta Mantapa Pooja and Astavadhana will be held before Abhishekha and Shayana Alankara.
Kateelu Jatre Day 6: Padu Savari Utsava held
Kateel, April 19, 2022: On the 6th day of the celebration, Padusavari on Chandramandala was held.
Golden Chariot Utsava, Golden Palanquin Utsava, Vasantha Mantapa Pooje and Astavadhana were the other events.
In the afternoon Bhog was offered to Brahma.
Kateelu Jatre Day 5: Silver Chariot Utsava held
Kateel, April 18, 2022: Silver Chariot Utsava was held on the 5th day of the annual Utsav on April 18.
Morning Abhisheka, Usha Kala Pooja, and Abhishekha were held in the morning between 3.30 am and 6 am. Mahapooja was held at noon followed by Sandhya (evening) Pooja at 5.30 pm.
From 6 pm to 8.45 pm Bali, Golden Chariot Utsava, Golden Palanquin Utsava, Vasanthamantapa Pooje and Astavadhana seva were offered to Sri Durgaparameshwari.
Later Silver Chariot Utsava was held followed by Nigh Pooja, Bhuta Bali, and Kavata Bandhana.
Kateelu Jatre Day 4: Golden Chariot Utsava held
Kateel, April 17, 2022: On the 4th day of Kateelu Jatre, Deepada Bali was held in the morning, followed by Morning Abhisheka, Ushakala Pooja, and Abhisheka Seva.
Mahapooja was held at 12.30 pm and Sandhya Pooja at 5.30 pm.
In the evening Bali, Golden Chariot Utsava, Golden Palanquin Utsava, Vasanta Mantapa Pooje and Astavadhana were held in the temple.
At night Nitya Pooja and Bhoota Bali were held. Cultural program were organized as part of the celebration.
Kateelu Jatre Day 3: ‘Pratista Vardhanti,’ at Moola Kudru
Kateel, April 16, 2022: The ‘Pratista Vardhanti,’ celebration was held at the Bhramari Vana of Kateel on Saturday.
The ‘Bhramari Vana,’ also called the ‘Moola Kudru,’ of Kateel is a small island situated right behind the temple.
Religious events were held as part of the ‘Pratista Vardhanti,’ at the temple here.
Utsava Bali and Moodusavari were held at night. Bharatanatyam program was organized as part of the cultural program.
Kateelu Jatre Day 2: Yugadi Deepada Bali held
Mangaluru, April 15, 2022: Yugadi Deepada Bali was held as part of Saura Yugadi at Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple on Friday.
Today was the second day of the Jatra Mahotsava of the temple. Saura Yugadi (Bisu) was celebrated at the temple.
Hereditary archak Sri Ananthapadmanabha Asranna conducted the Panchanga Shravana of the new Samvatsara. Devotees gathered in large numbers to have darshan of Kateelamma on the occasion of ‘Bisu,’ (Saura Yugadi).
In the evening Utsava Bali was held. Cultural programs were organized as part of the celebration.
Kateelu Jatre Begins

Mangaluru, April 14, 2022: Kateelu Jatre, the annual festival of Kateel Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple began today.
The traditional rituals were headed by Shibarooru Krishnaraja Trantri.
Special Alankara and Pooja were offered to Kateelamma after which Dhwajarohana (hoisting the traditional Dhwaja of the temple) was held at 8 am on Thursday.
Temple hereditary archak Sriharinarayanadasa Asranna offered ‘Palla Pooja,’ (the special Pooja to the rice before serving to the devotees). Hundreds of people gathered for the ‘Annadana,’ at the temple.
Utsava Bali was held at night.

Cultural programs were organized as part of the event.
Temple hereditary trustees Vasudeva Asranna, Kodethurguttu Sanath Kumar Shetty, temple hereditary archaks Lakshminarayana Asranna, Ananthapadmanabha Asranna, Venkataramana Asranna, Kamaladeviprasada Asranna, and others were present.
