ProtoPoster Conclave 2026 Held at SUIET
Mangaluru, Jan 14, 2026: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, under the banner of the Association of Computer Engineers (ACE), organised ProtoPoster Conclave 2026, a project exhibition for third-year BTech engineering students, on January 5, 2026.
The conclave aimed to promote innovation, problem-solving skills, and technical communication among students. A total of 52 teams and over 200 students participated, presenting mini-projects across domains such as Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Databases, Full Stack Development, Web Applications, and Coding.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Ramakrishna N. Hegde, Dean, Srinivas University Institute of Engineering and Technology (SUIET), Mukka. Dr. Praveen B. M., Director (Research), Srinivas University, Dr. Shifana Begum, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Prof. Amritha A. Kindalkar, Programme Convener, Prof. Shravya S., Faculty Coordinator (ACE), and student coordinators Thejaswini M. and Lakshmi Bhat were present.
Addressing the students, Dr. Praveen B. M. highlighted the importance of research and innovation, while Dr. Ramakrishna N. Hegde emphasised the role of project-based learning in engineering education.
The projects were evaluated by external judges based on innovation, technical depth, presentation, and demonstration. The judges also provided feedback on technical execution and presentation skills.
At the valedictory function held in the evening, Jyotsna R. won the Best Pitch award, Rahul R. Naik received the Best Poster award, and Sinchana T. Urs was awarded Best Innovation and Demo. Anish Shetty and team won the overall first prize, while Ganesh and team secured the runners-up prize.
