Holiday Declared for Schools and PU Colleges in Dakshina Kannada Due to Heavy Rainfall

Mangaluru, May 26, 2025: In view of the heavy rains lashing Dakshina Kannada and the red alert issued for the district, the district administration has declared a holiday for all educational institutions on May 27 and 28.

Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada confirmed the closure applies to all Anganwadis, government, primary and high schools, CBSE institutions, Pre-University (PU) colleges, government, aided and private institutions across all taluks in the district.

The decision was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of students and staff amid the forecast of continued heavy rainfall.
