Puttur, Sep 04: Puttur Town Police have arrested two persons who were allegedly involved in illegal cattle transport.

The police team lead by Puttur Town Station Sub Inspector waylaid an Omni car at Purusharakatte in Narimogru village on Thursday evening and found a calf with its legs tied and cruelly inside the car.

The police immediately arrested Shivaprasad Bhat K (52) and Chandra T (34) of Kasargod Palar Bandadka and also seized the vehicle.

A case under Section 8 and 11 Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter & Cattle Preservation Act 1964, Section 11 (1) (D) of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 and Section 66 along with 192 (A) of MV Act.
