COVID-19 KIMS Karwar Unit to be ready by Friday
Karwar, March 28: Asking the people of Bhatkal not to panic, Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr Harish Kumar has assured the district administration is capable of handling the health emergency.
“Within next Friday COVID-19 KIMS Karwar Unit will be ready at Medical College in Karwar with a cost of Rs 1 crore,” DC informed https://thecanarapost.blogspot.com/
“The unit will consist 150 bed Supervised Isolation Center (ISC) with Central oxygen supply, 50 bed quarantine besides ISC,” the DC said.
There would be 25 bed at KIMS hospital to be used for quarantine and 10 bedded isolation ICU outside existing KIMS hospital.
Mr M Roshan, Chief Executive Officer, Uttara Kannada Zilla Panchayat is monitoring the entire activities.
“I would ask the people to stay at home, relax and enjoy leisure with family members. We are here to serve you. Don’t give any room for spreading rumors or fake news. Carrier of fake news is equally dangerous as a carrier of COVID-19,” he said.
