 Weekend curfew to continue in DK, resume in Udupi

Udupi, Aug 30, 2021: The state government has decided to withdraw the weekend curfew in some of the districts. However it will continue in Dakshina Kannada and Kodagu districts. As per the new order Udupi and Hassan too will henceforth have weekend curfew.

Govt order:

  1. The weekend curfew imposed is withdrawn for Belagavi, Bidar, Vijayapura, Kalaburagi, Mysuru and Chamarajanagara districts. However, the weekend curfew shall continue to be imposed in Dakshina Kannada, Kodagu districts in addition to Udupi and Hassan districts as per the existing guidelines. However students are permitted to attend exams during the weekend curfew adhering to prevailing guidelines issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka and COVID appropriate behavior. Hall ticket shall serve as identity (pass) for movement purposes.
  2. Marriages/Family functions are permitted to be conducted with gatherings up to 50% of the hall capacity allowed and with a maximum the ceiling of 400 persons strictly adhering to COVID 19 appropriate behavior and prevailing guidelines issued by the State Government.
  3. All students from Kerala arriving in Karnataka in pursuance of their studies in any discipline including, but not restricted to, nursing, medical, engineering, paramedical etc. can only enter Karnataka with RTPCR negative report of not earlier than 72 hours before entry to the state and will be subjected to compulsory institutional quarantine of 7 days at the
    end of which they will have to undergo RTPCR test.
  4. The guidelines in para 3 above will also be applicable to all employees who are employed in Karnataka and arriving from Kerala or have visited Kerala in the previous seven days before entry to Karnataka. It is the responsibility of the management/ employer to enforce the same.

Further, there will be strict surveillance at the border posts set up by the districts adjoining Kerala and Maharashtra States as per the prevailing circular/guidelines issued by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka. The Education Department will issue separate orders with respect to the applicable guidelines for the opening of primary schools.
