Mangaluru, Sept 16, 2026: Drone flights, use and operations have been completely banned within a one-kilometre radius of three key locations in Mangaluru from 4 p.m. on September 17 to 10 a.m. on September 19.

Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy issued the order in view of the security of the Chief Minister and Cabinet-rank ministers and public safety.

The areas around the Merihill helipad, Hotel Taj Vivanta where the Chief Minister will stay, and the Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner’s office, Praja Soudha, at Padil, where the Cabinet meeting will be held, have been declared temporary red zones.

The ban applies to the flight, use and operation of drones of any type within a one-kilometre radius of the three locations during the specified period.
