 MAHE brings out book on Healthcare Management

Manipal, July 10, 2021: Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) has brought out a book titled Transformation Beyond Sight – ‘A Narrative of Experiences and Challenges in Managing Large Hospitals’.

Dr. H S Ballal, Pro-Chancellor, MAHE released the book published by Manipal Universal Press (MUP) on July 9.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Ballal said healthcare and hospital administration have grown more complex, with increasing pressure on them for providing quality healthcare with humaneness.

“The Manipal Group is presently running more than 50 hospitals across the country with over 4,000 doctors and has provided employment to thousands of people,” he said.

He appreciated the author Jibu Thomas for the resourceful book which gives information about working with traditional processes as well as updates on the modern system of hospital management.

“MAHE encourages young professionals to share their experience and encourages writing through MUP to share their world of experience to others and upcoming aspirants of different fields to select their profession, understanding the facts from the peers through this kind of good work,” he added.

Dr. Avinash Shetty, Medical Superintendent, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal said, introduced the book.

Dr. C G Muthanna, Chief operating officer, Kasturba Hospital, Manipal and Head of Manipal cluster, appreciated the author for documenting healthcare and hospital operation experiences.

Welcoming the guests, Dr. Neeta Inamdar, Chief Editor, Manipal Universal Press said, MUP was proud of bringing out this informative book on healthcare management. 

Author Jibu Thomas proposed a vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to his colleagues and health professionals who supported in bringing out the book.

Dr. Anand Venugopal, Medical Superintendent, KMC Dr. Bincy M George, Associate professor, Department of Anatomy, MAHE were present.
