Gold worth ₹1.10 crore concealed in inner wear and sanitary pad seized
Mangaluru, March 11, 2021: In one of the biggest hauls, officers of Mangalore Air customs today seized gold worth ₹1.10 crore from a woman who had concealed in her inner garments, sanitary pads and socks.
The woman- Mohammed Ali Sameera from Kasargod had landed at Mangaluru International Airport from Dubai by Air India flight. She allegedly tried to smuggle gold by concealing in both her inner garments including sanitary pads and also in her socks.
Gold of net weight 2.41 Kg valued at ₹ 1.10 crore was seized.
Also foreign origin cigarettes violating COPTA regulations were also seized from her possession. Further investigation is under progress.
The team was led by Deputy Commissioner Dr.Kapil Gade and included Superintendent Preeti Suma, Rakesh Kumar and Kshiti Nayak.
