Holiday for Schools, Anganwadis and PU Colleges in Dakshina Kannada on July 3
Mangaluru, July 2, 2026: The Dakshina Kannada District Disaster Management Authority has declared a holiday for all anganwadi centres, schools and pre-university colleges (up to Class 12) across the district on Friday, July 3, following an Orange Alert issued for the district in view of the forecast of heavy rainfall.
The order, issued by Deputy Commissioner Darshan follows a weather forecast predicting continued heavy rainfall over Dakshina Kannada.
The holiday applies to all anganwadi centres, government, aided and private primary and high schools, and pre-university colleges (up to Class 12) in the district.
As part of precautionary measures, the district administration has advised parents to ensure that children do not venture near waterlogged low-lying areas, ponds, lakes, rivers or the seashore.
