B.Com Student Council 2026 Inaugurated at Srinivas University
Mangaluru, Feb 10, 2026: The Department of B.Com, Institute of Management and Commerce (IMC), Srinivas University, inaugurated the B.Com Student Council 2026 at the university’s new campus in Pandeshwara on Saturday, marking the commencement of student-led academic and leadership activities for the new academic year.
Dean of IMC, Dr. Venkatesh S. Amin, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the importance of holistic student development through academic excellence, leadership and active participation.
Head of the Department of B.Com, Prof. Sharmila S. Shetty, presented an overview of the student council’s objectives and activities. A major highlight of the event was the distribution of badges and the formal inauguration of 14 student forums, followed by the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected council members.
Captain Ganesh Karnik, who attended the event as Guest of Honour, delivered an inspiring address on leadership, discipline and nation-building, urging students to take responsibility beyond academics.
The programme opened with a welcome dance by students Sinchana and Niveditha, accompanied by live art by Devish. This was followed by the formal escorting of dignitaries and a prayer rendered by Prof. Prathijna K.
The programme concluded with the felicitation of students and a vote of thanks, with faculty members and students terming the event a grand success.
